BEST MAC LIPSTICKS FOR FAIR SKIN

Best Mac Lipsticks for Fair Skin

So today I'm feeling super productive! I've been to the gym this afternoon, tidied and de-cluttered my room and now I'm writing a blog post, I'm basically super woman. But coming back to this post, this post will focus on what I think are some good shades in Mac lipsticks for people with fair/pale skin. If you don't live near a Mac counter (like me when I'm not at uni) it can be quite difficult to know which shade to choose so I've put together all the different shades I feel compliment fair skin!

I'm going to be focusing on seven different lipsticks.

Swatch from left to right: Lovelorn, Please Me, Plumful, New York Apple, Twig, Rebel, Girl About Town

PLEASE ME:- This is very similar to Lovelorn, it is however a matte finish and can be drying on the lips. However, it is a lovely pink nude shade. It is a bit more longer lasting and has a stronger colour I feel.

LOVELORN:- This is a lovely nude pink shade, in a lustre finish. It is perfect for just a simple daytime look and is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade.

PLUMFUL:- I love Plumful! It is a lustre finish, and is a lovely off red ish shade which I would personally wear for a day to night look as I feel red is more of a night time colour. Lovely lipstick but colour could be slightly brighter.

NEW YORK APPLE:- This is the only lipstick of which I own in a Frost finish. I personally think this lipstick would have been better in a matte shade HOWEVER I love this lipstick and is the perfect red shade for fair skin as it is not too bold.

TWIG:- A lovely Satin finish lipstick that resembles the famous Velvet Teddy. I wear this with the Spice lip liner and it is a lovely brown shade and is perfect for a daytime look. Overall, a lovely lipstick which is slightly out of my comfort zone but I still love it.

REBEL:- Another satin finish lipstick that is perfect for Autumn/Winter. I have only wore this lipstick once as finding the occasion for it is difficult! It is a lovely statement lip and doesn't dry my lips.

GIRL ABOUT TOWN:- I have definitely saved the best until last here.... I absolutely love this lipstick. It was one of the first Mac lipsticks I have ever purchased and I'm still in love. It is very bright but is very flattering on fair skin. This is my go to night time lipstick shade for a girls night out. Absolutely LOVE.

Three occasions of me wearing Girl About Town... that is maybe why I've used half of the lipstick within months.

GRWM: DATE NIGHT

GRWM: DATE NIGHT

My previous GRWM post was very popular so I decided I would do another but this time for a date night look that I did last night. Below is a picture of all of the different products that I used to create the look.

I began by prepping my skin with the Simple Kind to Skin Light Moisturiser and then began creating my base. To create my base I mixed Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation with the Seventeen Wow! Primer {I reviewed this product in a previous post, you can find it HERE!}.

This is my skin bare with just some Vaseline on my lips and the Simple Moisturiser.

I then used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to conceal underneath my eyes and the blemishes and spots that I had, and finished this with the Mac Studio Fix Powder. Following this, I applied some light contouring using Hoola by Benefit and then highlighted with Lightscapade by Mac. I finished my base of with a flush of colour to my cheeks and used Pink Rose in the Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush.

I then moved onto my brows... for my brows I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomrade in colour Blonde, and set them with Benefit's Gimme Brow. I highlighted underneath them with Benefit's High Beam.

I then moved onto my eyes. For my eyes I used the Benefit 'They're Real' Mascara for one coat, and then used the Mac Fluidline to create my winged eyeliner. I then used the Maybelline 24hr Tattoo in shade Pink Gold, followed by a shadow Platinum from the Smashbox Shapematters Palette. To finish the look, I added another coat of mascara but this time with the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast.

I finished my look with Mac's Plumful lipstick.. and here is the finished look.

For this date night, we went out to a local restaurant. This is what the food looked like... (the most important part).

Thankyou for reading, as usual feel free to leave any comments. If you would like any in depth reviews of the products I have featured let me know!

Seventeen Skin Wow Primer

Seventeen Skin Wow Primer REVIEW

So on New Years Day, hungover and feeling sad that Christmas was over, I made a Boots order to try and lift my spirits! I bought a few different items and bought products from brands that I wouldn't normally purchase from and one of these products was the Seventeen Skin Wow Primer which I will be reviewing in this post. The primer was £5.99 and can be found HERE!, it is described as '3 way HIGHLIGHTER GLOW & primer. The ultimate skin pick me up! Mix it up with this 3 way liquid highlighter' I was interested in this product particularly as I was in search of a good primer and have been looking into purchasing the Mac Stobe Cream which everyone raves about! {If anyone has the strobe cream, comment below on whether you think it is worth the price!} I thought that this product would be a good alternative.

I was beyond impressed with this product. I don't really know what I was expecting but what I got I LOVED.

I mixed the primer/highlighter in with my normal foundation.

The result was a much more dewy finish, I love the Studio Fix Foundation but find it can be hard to spread around my face? That sounds very strange but the primer made it a lot more easy to apply and gave a lovely finish. I applied it with a Real Techniques sponge.

The following picture shows my face on the left naked (I believe I had used moisturiser and that is it), and on the right it shows my face using the Studio Fix Foundation mixed with the Seventeen Primer. The foundation has covered up the redness on my cheeks and the spots/scarring from previous spots.

I highly recommend the Primer and know that it is going to become a staple in my everyday makeup routine. I was going out for dinner for this makeup look, I went with my friends to a cocktail and pizza bar and had a brilliant night!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, feel free to leave any comments below! Make sure you follow my blog on Bloglovin to keep up to date with what I'm posting :)

NYE GRWM

NYE GRWM

I'm posting this on the 2nd of January, of what I wore on NYE! This is a follow up post to my previous post which was prep for NYE. I hope everyone had a lovely time welcoming the New Year in and everyone has a fabulous 2016! If you want to read my NYE Prep post click here :) The following picture includes everything I used to make my face for NYE.

I badly need to clean my brushes so excuse the dirty brushes!

Products in picture:

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser Benefit Porefessional Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation NW13 Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer Fair Bare minerals Stroke of Light Mac Studio Fix Powder NW13 Smash box Shape Matters Palette Rommel Pink Rose Blush Mac Mineralize Skin finish Lightscapade Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomrade Blonde Benefit Gimme Brow Benefit High beam Mac Fluidline Blacktrack Mac New York Apple

I began by using the Simple moisturiser to prep my skin as I have fairly dry skin. The Simple moisturiser is quite light on the skin. I then used the Benefit 'porefessional' as a primer, I love this primer however find it quite oily and I cannot stand the texture, I don't know if anyone else agree's? It's just so strange! I then used the Mac foundation, with a Real Technique expert face brush. Following my foundation I concealed beneath my eyes with the Collection concealer, this is such a brilliant concealer and conceals dark circles and blemishes. I then secured all of this with the Mac powder, some use this as a foundation but I don't find it too heavy when applied with the Real Technique powder brush. After this, I contoured using the Smashbox palette, put Mac highlighter on my cheekbones and Rimmel blush on the apples of my cheeks.

Moving on to brows and eyes... I used the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomrade, I love this product so much! I've tried many brow products but can't seem to get on with powders. I set them with the Benefit speed brow and highlighted my brow bone with the Benefit high beam.

Moving on to eyes... I used shadows from the Smashbox palette, and used the Mac fluidline to create a cat eye effect. Following all of this I put some Eyelure lashes on! I love these as they aren't too long but just long enough to finish of the look.

And lips... I used Mac 'New York Apple' on my lip, it is a redish shade, but not overpowering red and a lovely sheen.

The finished look was this...

I'm on the right if you didn't guess...
I hope you enjoyed this post! I can provide (as usual) any more info on any products that I've listed! Feel free to leave any comments :)
